The French Art Market Under German Occupation (1940-1944)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kunst- und Ausstellungshalle der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, Bonn, Germany<br \/>\n30 November &#8211; 1 December, 2017<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Each fall, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kulturgutverluste.de\/Webs\/DE\/Start\/Index.html\">Deutsches Zentrum Kulturgutverluste<\/a>\u00a0(German Lost Art Foundation) hosts a specialist conference. This year, noted French and German experts will give lectures on the subject of systematic art theft in France, reviewing the results of research performed on this topic in both countries under the heading &#8220;Theft &#038; Trade. The French Art Market under German Occupation (1940-1944)&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The German Lost Art Foundation is pleased to invite interested parties to attend the public conference\u00a0between November 30, 2017 and December 1, 2017\u00a0at the\u00a0Kunst- und Ausstellungshalle der Bundesrepublik Deutschland<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany), Friedrich-Ebert-Allee 4, 53113 Bonn.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Conference languages<\/strong>: French and German<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Who were the stakeholders, and who were the people who were robbed? How did Nazi policies, art historical expertise and market interests intertwine? How did the collaboration work? The conference will explore all these questions, additionally creating a thematic focus via the presentation of new research outcomes on acquisitions by Hildebrand Gurlitt in France. Works of art from the so-called &#8220;Schwabinger Kunstfund&#8221; (Art Fund of Schwabing) will be introduced in the exhibition &#8220;Dossier Gurlitt. De quelle mani\u00e8re la politique nazie, l\u2019expertise de l\u2019histoire de l\u2019art et les int\u00e9r\u00eats de march\u00e9 \u00e9taient-ils imbriqu\u00e9s? Comment fonctionnait la collaboration? Le colloque souhaite aborder toutes ces questions mais il veut aussi mettre l\u2019accent sur le th\u00e8me des acquisitions de Hildebrand Gurlitt en France en pr\u00e9sentant des nouveaux r\u00e9sultats de recherche. En parall\u00e8le, des \u0153uvres d\u2019art issues du dit \u00ab\u00a0tr\u00e9sor artistique de Munich\u00a0\u00bb seront montr\u00e9es dans une exposition intitul\u00e9e: \u00ab\u00a0Inventaire Gurlitt.
