The Rialto Bridge from the South, ca 1727.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span class=\"smal\">++Title, abstract and CV are always written in the respective language of presentation.<\/span>++<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Abstract:<\/strong>\u00a0Die Kunstgeschichtsschreibung misst noch immer der korporativen Kunstproduktion in Gilden eine eher negative Rolle bei und stellt diese dem Ideal des Hofk\u00fcnstlers gegen\u00fcber. Folglich wird die Rolle der Republiken in der europ\u00e4ischen Kunstproduktion und -vermarktung untersch\u00e4tzt. Demgegen\u00fcber ist in der Wirtschafts- und Sozialgeschichte eine Neubewertung der Z\u00fcnfte erfolgt. In meinem Vortrag werden daher die spezifisch republikanischen Modalit\u00e4ten und Institutionen f\u00fcr Kunstmarkt und -vermarktung vergleichend f\u00fcr Venedig und die Niederl\u00e4ndische Republik untersucht.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/geschichte.uni-greifswald.de\/arbeitsbereiche\/fnz\/north\/\">Michael North<\/a> ist seit 1995 Inhaber des Lehrstuhls f\u00fcr Allgemeine Geschichte der Neuzeit an der Universit\u00e4t Greifswald; von 2007 bis 2010 war er dort Prorektor. Er war zudem Sprecher des Graduiertenkollegs \u201eKontaktzone Mare Balticum\u201c und fungiert zurzeit als Sprecher des Internationalen Graduiertenkollegs \u201eBaltic Borderlands\u201c (zusammen mit den Universit\u00e4ten Lund und Tartu). Er ist Ehrendoktor der Universit\u00e4t Tartu und war 2010\/2011 Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Modern German Studies an der University of California in Santa Barbara. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Wirtschafts-, Sozial- und Kulturgeschichte, Geschichte der Niederlande und des Ostseeraumes sowie Kunstm\u00e4rkte, Kunstsammlungen und Kultureller Austausch.\u00a0Zu seinen j\u00fcngsten Buchpublikationen z\u00e4hlen\u00a0\u201eZwischen Hafen und Horizont: Weltgeschichte der Meere\u201c (M\u00fcnchen 2016) sowie als Mitherausgeber und -autor \u201eMediating Netherlandish Art and Material Culture in Asia\u201d (Amsterdam 2014).<\/p>\n<p align=\"right\"><a class=\"smal\" title=\"Aktuelles Vortragsprogramm\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fokum.org\/en\/vortragsprogramm-sommersemester-2017\/\">back <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LECTURE ON MONDAY, 24\/04\/2017 Prof. Dr. Dr.\u00a0h.c.
